| Ivy Khan was
tickled by the “acting bug” at the age of 5 when her mother forced her
into the Benchley Weinberger Elementary School talent show. That
awkward a cappella performance of “Somewhere over the Rainbow” ignited
her passion for performance.
After a myriad
of variety shows, musicals and school plays, she moved on to the
University of California at San Diego. When she realized that her
possible choices for a major (Criminology, Paleontology and Law) were
selected only due to her obsessions with the movies The Fugitive,
Jurassic Park and Philadelphia, she sheepishly settled on Theatre as
her emphasis.
After 4 years
of performing at the La Jolla Playhouse and on the UCSD campus in over
13 plays and 4 short films, she graduated Cum Laude and moved to Los
Angeles to pursue acting as a career. Here she has performed in over 10
plays, 5 independent features, several commercials and radio spots and
one bizarre appearance on a reality television show. Her
extensive
theatrical
experience
and natural gift for improvisation,
impersonation and character voices has led her to the Upright Citizen’s
Brigade and The Groundlings, where she is currently taking classes.
Ivy is a
member of the Racket Collective Theatre Company.
